Our Standards: Safety, Ethics & Conservation

How Deer Management Professionals works — and why landowners across southeastern Pennsylvania trust us.

Deer population management is serious work. It happens on private property, near homes and roads, and it carries real responsibility — for safety, for the animals, and for the land. These are the standards we hold ourselves to on every property we manage.

Experience

Deer Management Professionals brings more than 30 years of deer management experience to properties throughout southeastern Pennsylvania. Over that time we have managed deer across a wide range of settings — working farms, large private estates, suburban communities, institutions and open space — each with its own terrain, neighbors and constraints.

Safety first, always

Safety is the controlling factor in everything we do. Our team works to strict operational protocols and typically operates from elevated positions, which keeps the line of fire directed safely toward the ground. Every property is planned individually around homes, roads, trails and neighboring land, and work is scheduled and sited to keep the public well clear. If a situation cannot be handled safely, it is not handled at all.

Ethical and humane practice

We hold ourselves to a high standard of ethical, humane and professional conduct. Our aim is never to exterminate deer, but to bring populations back into a sustainable balance with the habitat and the people who share it. We treat the animals, the landowner and the surrounding community with respect at every step.

A conservation philosophy

We practice a quality deer management philosophy focused on the long-term health of the land. Overabundant deer suppress forest regeneration, strip native understory and reshape entire plant communities. By managing deer at sustainable levels, we help protect agriculture and landscaping today while supporting the recovery of healthy, diverse habitat over time. Deer play an important role in our ecosystems, and our goal is to keep them present at levels the land can support.

Compliance with Pennsylvania law

Our work is conducted in accordance with Pennsylvania wildlife regulations. We coordinate closely with landowners and structure each program to operate responsibly and within the applicable rules.

Giving back: Hunters Sharing the Harvest

We participate in Hunters Sharing the Harvest, the Pennsylvania program that channels donated venison to food banks, soup kitchens and charitable organizations across the state. It reflects our belief that responsible deer management should benefit the wider community, not just the properties we work on.
